Digital Alligator Bead Pattern for you to download/print.
The inspiration for this alligator came from a wonderful customer who noticed that this swampy reptile was missing from my collection of beaded animals. I am happy for the suggestion and pleased to share this delightful design with you.
I am providing you with a 1 page file to download. No instructions are provided. You will need experience with brick stitch beading. Because of the unusual shape of the alligator, this design is a little tricky so you will need to be familiar and comfortable with bead weaving stitches (ladder, brick).
1. Suggested supplies (including but not limited to beading needle, bead thread, Delica seed beads).
2. Bead legend with colors I used to complete the alligator.
3. Photo of completed project as reference.
4. Bead graph to show bead placement.
Measures approximately 1.25 inches in length (nose to tail) and .5 inches in width.
You can use your completed beadwork as a fun novelty earring (see second photo), charm or pendant. Make it one-of-a-kind with your own bead colors.
Any questions? Please feel free to contact me.

Yes. You will need to know basic bead weaving stitches such as ladder stitch, peyote stitch and brick stitch. You will also need to know how to add thread (if your existing thread is too short), how to end your beadwork and how to add attachments or connector beads if making jewelry.
If needed, I will try my best to help you along by providing you with tips and video links. Please take time to view this youtube link if you are new to beadweaving, bit.ly/learnbrickstitch.
Definitely not! Use either Peyote or Brick Stitch to weave your design. Many of my patterns are created on a Peyote Stitch chart because it's my personal preference. However, when actually beading my piece, I turn my pattern sideways and stitch using the brick stitch technique.
You can start anywhere you want to. Some people have told me that they like to start from the center moving outwards while others like to start at the edge. I usually start at the widest/tallest point or on the row/column that I plan to attach a connector bead (so I can get that out of the way first).
It is a personal preference (as of Sept. 2015, new patterns will not show the finishing loop info). Instead of a loop, I like to stitch on a closed jump ring.
You may sell your finished beadwork made from my pattern as long as
1. You purchased the pattern from my shop or received it as a free pattern that has been shared by me
2. It is made by your own hands (no mass production, wholesale, etc.)
3. Do not imply or claim my original design as your own.
